Soft Batch Cookies

Ingredients:
  • 4 sticks butter/margarine, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 Tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Cream together butter, eggs, molasses, vanilla, and water in a medium bowl.
  3. Stir in sugars, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour.
  4. Shape into 1-inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 8 minutes or until light brown around the edges.
If you let them cool overnight before eating them (all), they get
softer and chewier the next day!
