Mom's Pie Crust

  • 1 7/8 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup milk

Sift flour into bowl.  Stir in salt with fork.  Pour oil into glass measuring cup.  Add milk on top of oil, but do not mix.  Pour into flour-salt mixture, stirring with fork until dough forms.  Shape into 2 balls.

Roll between two sheets of wax paper until larger than pie tin.  (Moisten counter top with wash cloth/sponge to hold wax paper in place) Gently remove top sheet of wax paper, using table knife to assist in separation, if necessary.  Transfer pie crust to pie plate (flip).  Gently remove other sheet of wax paper.
